    (Christian Dawson - ServInt)

Integrating your products to take your company to the next level

Most hosting companies nowadays make use of a control panel such as cPanel, Parallels, DirectAdmin or ISP System. Over the last years I've been responsible for integrating the webhost focused SpamExperts email security solutions with these and other control panels. This has provided a very interesting insight in the quality, internal build up, integration difficulties, and support of the various control panel systems. During this case study the different control panels are technically compared from an integration point of view. Furthermore it will provide a useful insight on how to customize your hosting business to offer unique products (by integrating these yourself) in order to stay ahead of competition.

Once that is done, and you have your new shiny sales team in the office ready to go, the real work begins. This session will look at inside sales rep comp expectations from a study of several hosting companies conducted last year. Jim will discuss interview styles and methods to insulate companies from making the wrong hire. Organizational Diversity and the Bottom Line: The Business Case for Diversity

Organizational Diversity and the Bottom Line: The Business Case for Diversity

Diversity and difference have already become major sources of sustained competitive advantage. Companies seek to promote the diversity of visions and attitudes in order to secure themselves from failures and to make sure that their brand and reputation are associated with inclusiveness and social responsibility. More often than not, companies limit their vision of diversity to ethnic and racial acceptance, while diversity usually implies the need for companies to accept the need for promoting gender diversity and the diversity of sexual orientation and attitudes in the workplace.

Whether diversity becomes the driver of increased organizational performance depends on how well companies can manage their diverse workforce and promote their inclusiveness and self-realization; that, however, does not mean that equity and equality are the best solutions to the existing diversity issues. When it comes to gender and sexual orientation, the true vision of diversity begins with accepting the difference and evaluating gender forces that govern workplace operations. I will address sexual orientation and gender controversies by assessing how gendered the workplace is, by promoting alternative values perspectives, and by integrating the notions of commitment and competence with the basic principles of family-friendly working environments. I will also address how to take family-work balance as the basic prerequisite for turning it into the sources of improved performance at all levels of the organizational structure.

The Next Evolution in Customer Care - Service Cloud

Where do most customers go for service today? The telephone, once everyone's favorite way to access customer support has become a jumbled mess of touch-tone navigation and poorly trained, outsourced agents. The cloud is where customers are turning for assistance. In this session Elya McCleave will explore the "service cloud," answering the questions on why every hosting company needs to step up and how to take full advantage of service delivery through the cloud

How to deliver products that customers will pay for

How to deliver products that customers will pay for

When technology projects fail, it’s usually not because they fail to deliver interesting technologies, but because they fail to deliver technologies that customers find valuable. Traditional technology project planning involves management discussions on product value, architecture meetings, development, testing and customer feedback. This process is slow and quite often yields products that don’t wow customers. David Koston will discuss using customer development and lean project management to build winning products without investing lots of time and money into things that customers do not want.
